UCLA Sea Clear
Southeast Asian Campus Learning Education and Retention (SEA CLEAR) Project at UCLA is a student-initiated, student-run retention program. We aim for 100% retention of Southeast Asian (SEA) students, focusing on providing current and returning students free services to assist their academic journey. We recognize the multifaceted and complex community conditions within Southeast Asian communities and strive to support our students through their time at UCLA and beyond. Through our 5 components, Internship, Peer Counseling, Mentorship, Wellness, and Transfer, SEA CLEAR is able to provide resources and opportunities to help students navigate higher education, contextualize their SEA identity, and promote their academic empowerment and holistic development.
Students can get involved with SEA CLEAR all throughout the school year! Students can sign up for peer counseling anytime during the year. We have quarterly internship opportunities before the start of Fall Quarter, the end of Fall quarter for Winter Internship, and the end of Winter quarter for Spring Internship. Mentorship applications for mentors and mentees open during the beginning of Fall and Winter. Workgroup volunteers for Wellness, Transfer, and Mentorship generally open during the beginning of the academic year, but if you are interested in getting involved and missed the deadline for applications, please reach out to us via email (seaclearatucla@gmail.com) or Instagram (@uclaseaclear)! Finally, we have events throughout the entire year that are open to all undergraduate students so feel free to come by to any of our events!
All of SEA CLEAR's services are open to all students, including transfer students. We aim to foster a diverse, inclusive, equitable experience for all students.
